Why people look past ChatGPT, from recent reviews
ChatGPT is a general assistant with far more users than any tool on this list, and G2 reviewers rate it highly for quick questions and drafts. The people who look elsewhere mostly want something it doesn't do well: long projects that keep their context, an agent that carries out multi-step work, or many models under one plan.
The two review platforms tell different stories. Trustpilot's 48 unprompted ChatGPT reviews from September 21 to 27, 2026 average 1.48, and the 2 invited ones average 1.0. G2's 50 reviews from September 11 to 27, 2026 average 4.59, and 47 of them give 4 stars or more. Trustpilot mostly draws consumers with a complaint; G2 draws business users (38 of the 50 are from companies with 50 or fewer staff). Both platforms share two complaints. The first is usage limits: by our reading, 12 of the 48 unprompted Trustpilot reviews complain about caps, quotas, or waits, even on paid plans. The second is wrong or invented answers, which 13 of the 50 G2 reviewers list among their dislikes.

There is no like-for-like rating lead over ChatGPT to report.

It suits people who like the chat format and want a second assistant to compare answers with. One G2 reviewer of ChatGPT in our pull said ChatGPT is weaker than Claude at writing e-books. We did not pull Claude's own reviews, so we cite no rating for it.
Gemini
For people who work in Google appsGoogle's Gemini has a free tier, and Google AI Pro costs $19.99 a month with higher usage limits than the free plan and Gemini inside Gmail and Docs. Ultra starts at $99.99 a month. It fits people whose work already lives in Google's apps. Two unprompted ChatGPT reviewers in our Trustpilot pull said Gemini worked better for them. We did not pull Gemini's reviews, so we cite no rating for it.
Monica
Browser extension with several modelsMonica is a browser sidebar that puts several chat, image, and video models next to the page you're reading, with summaries of pages, PDFs, and YouTube videos. Its prices load in the browser and we could not confirm a current figure. The two platforms disagree: 16 G2 reviews (August 2023 to April 2026) average 4.47, while 31 unprompted Trustpilot reviews (July 2024 to September 2026) average 1.45, many of them over billing, renewals, and cancellations.
When to stay with ChatGPT
Stay if most of what you do is quick questions, emails, study help, or short drafts. That is what the G2 reviewers praise: an interface with no learning curve, fast answers, voice input, and tools like Codex and image generation in the same app. Plus costs $20 a month, and Go costs $8. If limits are the only problem, a higher ChatGPT tier may be simpler than learning a new tool.
