Why people look past Manus
We read the 50 most recent Manus reviews on Trustpilot, posted between June 10 and September 27, 2026. Of those, 49 are unprompted and average 1.14 stars; the one invited review is also one star. Only two reviews are positive (a five and a four). Counting by hand, with some reviews raising more than one issue, the complaints fall into four groups:
- Support (28 reviews). At least 10 say their messages went to AI agents or bots and never reached a person.
- Billing, credits, and refunds (27). Credits that vanish faster than expected, refunds refused or never received, double charges, and plans that are hard to downgrade or cancel.
- Tasks that fail or ignore the prompt while still using credits (19), often on coding and website projects.
- Lost data or locked accounts (7).

Some of the data complaints line up with Manus's change of ownership. Manus says Meta acquired it on December 29, 2025, and that it went back to independent operations on September 1, 2026. Along the way, data that some users generated after the acquisition was deleted on August 23 and 24, 2026, after a backup window. Two reviews from late August and early September describe business data lost or missing around a restore. If you're leaving, export anything you need from Manus first.

The closest like-for-like agentGenspark is a general AI agent for research, slides, documents, and sites, so it covers most of what people use Manus for. It is the only option here with a strong unprompted Trustpilot record: 49 unprompted reviews from September 16 to 26, 2026 average 4.33 stars, against 1.14 for Manus. That sample spans ten days, and the low scores in it are about credits: one reviewer says unlimited chat was replaced with a weekly usage limit, and a free user ran out of credits on their first prompt. Plus starts at 10,000 credits a month with 50 GB of AI Drive storage, and the free plan gives 100 credits a day until a lifetime allowance is used up. Genspark's help center doesn't list plan prices.

A fixed monthly priceChatGPT's agent mode browses and carries out multi-step tasks inside a regular ChatGPT plan, so the monthly price is fixed: Go is $8, Plus $20, and Pro from $100. OpenAI's help center lists agent mode on Plus and higher plans. Plans still have usage caps, and that is where much of the criticism lands. Its reviews split by platform: 50 recent G2 reviews (September 11 to 27, 2026) average 4.59, while 48 unprompted Trustpilot reviews (September 21 to 27) average 1.48, with complaints about limits running out mid-task, wrong answers, and support that is an AI.
Who should look beyond ChatGPT →Lovable
Building an app or websiteSeveral Manus reviewers were building an app, an ERP, or a website when their credits ran out. Lovable is made for that job: you describe a web app in chat, and it writes and hosts it. Pro starts at $25 a month for 100 credits, and the free plan gives 5 build credits a day (up to 30 a month). It is credit-based too: Lovable says credits aren't refundable, and unused monthly credits expire two months after they're issued. We haven't pulled Lovable's reviews for this page. One Manus reviewer names it, along with Base44, as the tool they'd use instead.
When to stay with Manus
If Manus is doing the work and you haven't needed support, switching has a cost. A site or app already built and hosted on Manus would have to be rebuilt elsewhere, and Manus says storing or deploying finished outputs doesn't use credits. Its free plan is also more generous than Flowith's: 300 credits a day, where Flowith's Starter plan gives 300 once. Manus also says it refunds the credits for tasks that fail because of a technical problem on its side, although several reviewers say getting that refund was hard.
The two positive reviews in our sample come from people who use Manus steadily: one has it make weekly ads for Instagram, Pinterest, and TikTok and check two websites for errors, and the other says it has come a long way since they started using it in early 2025.

Trustpilot labels every review as invited or unprompted, and we report the two groups separately. G2 doesn't make that split. The complaint counts are our own reading of the 50 Manus reviews; three of them, written in German, describe a withdrawal scam and a recovery service and don't mention Manus. They are one-star and included in the 1.14 average; without them, the unprompted average is 1.15 across 46 reviews. Flowith has one Trustpilot review, so we make no rating comparison for it. We can't say that from reviews. Flowith has one Trustpilot review (one star, about credit costs at renewal), two on Product Hunt averaging 4.5, and two listed on G2, which is too few to compare with Manus. What differs is the design: Flowith puts the agent's work on a branching canvas with a knowledge base, while Manus runs tasks in a chat. Both charge in credits, and Flowith's free plan gives 300 credits once, where Manus's gives 300 a day.
